Frank Glockling's Research Group

[Dr Frank Glockling (1923, December 13 - 2014, December 31) moved from an Imperial Chemical Industries fellowship at Liverpool University after two years to take up a lectureship in chemistry at Durham in 1956. In 1964 (October 1) he became senior lecturer and three years later reader. In 1969 (October 1) he joined the staff of Queen's University Belfast, occupying a chair of chemistry until 1983. From 1983 to 1995 he held chemistry tutorships - stipendiary or honorary - at a series of Oxford University colleges. In retirement he lived in Bedfordshire.

Brooks and Alan Carrick Ph.D.s; 1965 Keith A. Hooton (postdoctoral, 24 months), John R.C. Light Ph.D.; 1966 R.L. Martin (visiting research fellow, 36 months), Michael D. Wilbey Ph.D.; 1967 Ronald J. Cross (associated senior demonstrator, 12 months), Alan F. Clemmit, Geoffrey C. Hill and Ralph G. Strafford Ph.D.s (final 12 months of study at Belfast; Durham registration retained). [In 1968, A. McGregor began a Ph.D. study period which, after 12 months, continued at Belfast, to where his registration was transferred; outcome not implied here.]
